A Pea Worthy Cookbook Giveaway

Hey all!

Remember May, when I was all stressed out about moving, but took comfort in dinner with my friend Sarah (aka Mama Pea)? You may remember how our friendship inspired me to bake these vegan fig bars, which remain among my proudest baking accomplishments:

Now Sarah’s inspiring me again, with the triumphant and fun-filled publication of her cookbook, Peas and Thank You. It’s a fantastic resource for Moms who are trying to help their families transition into more heavily plant based diets, and it’s filled with fun tips for the home cook (pea points) as well as the intimate stories and images of family life that make Sarah’s blog so touching and fun to read.

The book is also full of mouth-watering photos, which happen to have been taken by another dear friend: Ms. Ashley.

  1. I’d love to win the book because I know that it would be such a joy to read and cook from! And I don’t have any spare cash at the moment, or I already would have purchased it!!

  2. I would like to own the book because I already love making Mama Pea’s recipeas from her blog, so I’m sure this book would get a lot of use!

  3. I’m excited to win this giveaway because I finally tried her infamous mmm sauce for the first time and now I want to make more of her recipes!

  4. I would love a copy of this book so I can read additional Mama Pea writings, as well as have her recipes all in one place (instead of little scraps of paper all over the place – can never find them when I want them!)

  5. I’d love a copy of Mama Pea’s cookbook as I’ve been coveting it since she announced it’s publication. Her wit, love of family and joyfulness always bring a smile to my face. Oh, and her recipes rock!

  6. Totally going out of order because first I need to tell you that Mama Pea and her recipeas were my source of comfort when I went vegan! She can match flavors and throw a meal together like no other, and I absolutely want to get my hands on those recipeas she doesn’t post!!

  7. I hate yet to purchase a copy of the book, so this giveaway is super timely 🙂
Mama Pea is the best and has always inspired me with her fabulous and yummy concoctions.

  8. I enjoy reading the peas and thank you blog. She creates fantastic recipes. I bet this book is filled with great dishes and I’m excited to read her stories.

  9. I would be so excited to win this book because the recipes look healthy and tasty! I also need to add vegan cookbooks to my collection. Going to try those fig bars out soon!

  10. Wow those Fig bars look good; I missed that recipe. I’ve been dying to get my hands on a copy of Peas and Thank you! I just made Mama Pea’s Vegan Sloppy Joe’s (not in book) for my brother’s family – to help with the new baby. I love Vegan food that meat lover’s will eat. It means I’ll like it too, nice and hearty and filling.

  11. I’m not really one to “make up” a new dish, therefore I rely on blogs and cookbooks to keep my diet interesting and varied. Mama Pea comes highly recommended, so I’ve love to see what’s in the book.

  12. I was actually really happy when my copy finally arrived at my house. I had been waiting for a weekend and I wanted to see how many of the recipes would interest my mom, someone who isn’t big into the way I eat. She’s been browsing through the book now and she actually wanted to try the Tofu Fun nuggets. I was pretty much in awe. Having a spare copy for her to keep could really make an impact in her (and my father’s) diet!

  13. I would love to win this book because I had it and “loaned” it to a vegetarian friend who was dabbling with veganism. Always excited when people show interest in veganism and eager to give them help! So I would love to win the book so she can keep the loaner and I can have mine as well! Thank you

  14. Because every recipe(a) Sarah has talked about on her blog looks AMAZING. I’m hoping the cookbook would inspire me to get in the kitchen and actually start cooking again!

  15. #5 I’ll tell you exactly why I NEED this book: I follow Sarah’s blog, and alot of the food seems like it would appeal to my omni husband. Would loooove to be able to make ONE meal we both could share (I frequently cook two different entrees, nightly).

  16. I would love to win this book because I’m newly vegan and I know these recipes will inspire me!

  17. And lastly… I am still an omnivore, but I am always looking for ways to a) make my diet healthier and b) make my diet more cruelty free. Your blog is one of a handful of vegan blogs I read because, while you write passionately about your beliefs, you don’t strike me as judgmental toward those of us who are still working on our diets. (I’ve been turned away from so many vegan blogs because of their attitude toward those of us who are still omnivores.) Oh, and c) I’ve made several of your recipes and they’ve been amazingly delicious, and I’m always excited to try out more plant-based recipes!

  18. 1) check
    3) check
    5) I’m dying to make whatever scrumptious little treat is in those pink flower shaped cups. They look like they’re topped with streusel which is my absolute favorite!

  19. I am excited to own this cookbook because I need more yummy vegan recipes to make for my meat-eating husband! Also because Mama Pea is amazing!

  20. I’d love a copy because my roommate is moving to Maine and taking her vegan cookbooks with her, so I’ll only be left with one!

  21. I’m more than excited to win this cookbook for two reasons! 1) a friend of mine just went vegan this week, so I’d love to help her out with some delish recipes, and 2) I heart Mama Pea’s blog!

  22. I love Sarah’s website, Peas and Thank You and I think her recipes would be crowd pleasers for a 28 year old omnivore spouse.

  23. I just started following your blog and I am already completely and totally hooked!
I became a vegan 8 months ago after being a vegetarian for two years and I am always looking for new foods to try and new ways to make meals for myself and meals that will satisfy my omni parents and friends. This book looks so fantastic and I have heard such great praise about it- I really would love to win it!!

  24. I’m excited to get this book because it’s filled with delicious-sounding recipes that are also good for me!

  25. I would love to win this cookbook because I’m trying so hard to maintain my plant based diet after being diagnosed with many food allergies and I’d love dome new food inspiration! Thank you!!!

  26. Why am I excited to win this book?
    1) Because I’m a vegan cookbook junkie
    2) Because I think bloggers who publish books are awesome
    3) because it looks like one of those cookbooks with lots of pictures and they are the best
    4) Mama Pea’s recipes are AWESOME!
    Thanks for the giveaway 🙂

  27. I recently decided to transition to a vegan lifestyle, and I think this book would be great in helping me to incorporate a wide variety of food into my diet.

  28. I want to own this book because I’m hoping it will help push my almost veg husband to join me in being completely veg.

  32. I’ve recently transitioned from vegetarian to vegan and I LOVE Peas & Thank you! I’d love to win

  33. I’m excited to own this book because I’m going to use it to cook for my omni family. I also like that she seems to use readily-available ingredients–nothing that’s not easily accessible at my local market.

  34. I am excited to own this book because I want to see the Pea-family stories, and the infusions of Mama Pea’s personality. It’s definitely more than a book of recipes. I’m curious to see what recipe’s are included too!

  35. 5) Leave me a comment telling me why you’re excited to own this book.

I’m trying to transition to a more plant-based diet myself and can’t wait to get my hands on this book!
