Spicy Thai Salad | The Full Helping

Tonight’s dinner was inspired by Tuesday’s lunch. On Tuesday, in unseasonably sweltering heat, I met a friend at Caravan of Dreams, which is a vegan lunch spot tucked away on 6th street. I like Caravan because it’s cozy, welcoming, and it has an extensive vegan menu with both raw and cooked options.

On this visit, I decided to try the restaurant’s Thai avocado salad, “a mixture of avocado, tomatoes, cucumbers, nori pieces, and carrots served over fresh onganic seasonal greens tossed in Thai spicy citrus dressing.” Of course, I forgot to take a photo. But fear not: I liked it so much that I decided to re-interpret the spicy Thai salad tonight.

This salad is so flavorful. It’s sweet, spicy, and infused with fresh basil and cilantro. The dressing is avocado based, and it’s thick and tasty enough to serve as a vegetable dip as well as a salad dressing. Poured over spirals of carrots, cucumber, red peppers, red cabbage, and pea shoots, it’s absolutely divine. And some extra avocado doesn’t hurt the finished salad, either.

It was absolutely delicious! Alongside some baked sweet potato (which I forgot to photograph), it made for a great meal. This one will definitely be a keeper for summer.

That’s it for now, all – have a great night 🙂

  10. Hi

I’m in pudding-mood. I’ve read so much about puddings and now I’m reading Brendan Braziers Thrive, and really want to make a pudding, but I havent done it yet. And i want to surpise my boyfriend with a good post-workout pudding:)
And i want to use my chia-seeds in my pudding

  11. Aloha,
I just started yesterday to eat raw food.
I hope it will work for me because from what
I read, it seems the only way to benefit from
    from the food we eat.
Thank you for all the information.

  12. I would love to try raw zucchini spaghetti with raw pumpkin seed parmesan and marinara! MMMM… I’ve always wanted to buy devices especially for raw cooking such as blenders and dehydrators but I can’t afford it. the spiralizer is such a great idea! =)

  13. I have always wanted a spiralizer, but have never been able to afford one. I would be thrilled to make real “noodles” with zucchini and yellow squash! How exciting!!

    Courtney

  14. I would LOVE to try almost any raw recipe….I’m such a sponge for info these days and have no appliances (or budget) to do any of them!!! I dream of all the beautiful raw creations I could make with these things and yet…I can’t. I will difinately be bookmarking this blog….it gorgeous. Thanks for posting =)

  15. I had some raw zucchini “pasta” at the Chicago Diner and would definitely make some raw zucchini pasta with a new Spiralizer!

I also own a couple of raw “cookbooks” so I’d definitely try some recipes from there as well.

  16. oh, wow, your zucchini noodles with pesto sound fabulous….that would be my first dish. thanks for doing the giveaway…it’s what i call a premeditated kindness and i’m always highlighting those on my blog.
    enjoy the day….

  17. Raw Strawberry Cheesecake!! Yum! but unfortunately im so incredibly lazy that i probably wont get around to making it anytime soon! LOL the prep work and recipe looks too much lol! http://theppk.com/blog/2009/05/05/raw-strawberry-cheesecake/?utm_source=Crazy+Sexy+Life+Mailing+List&utm_campaign=3029b78760-The+Daily+Juice&utm_medium=email

But for my second 1st most do-able choice, and soon to be eaten prob next week i cant wait to try is -that doesnt look like 2 days of work for my lazy butt, lol is your yummy recipe-“Summertime Pesto” that looks awesomely delicious!!

  18. Hi there! Would love to get the spirooli (fingers crossed!)and try a zucchini pasta with marinara….but would also love to try making a nut-free raw pie (seems like everything has cashews in it!)…would love to find a raw cheesecake recipe without cashews : )

  19. I saw the photos of the Slothful Single Girl’s Summertime Pesto through the Crazy Sexy Life blog posting and was wowed by the beautiful presentation! I thought to myself that I must get a spiralizer to try that amazing recipe (although I am was past the delightful slothful single phase of my life) and then I saw the contest!!! Here I am, I’d love to try this recipe and I bet a bunch of others on your site!

  20. Spiralizer!!! Ever since I first laid eyes on you on one of Ani Phyo’s demos, I’ve wanted you. Zucchinis lie waiting for you in my crisper every week…but sadly I’ve only disgraced them with potato peelers…Vancouver, Canada does not seem to know anything about you, and I’ve checked every culinary shop I pass. Please, please be mine and I will make spirals out of everything oblong vegetable (or fruit) I encounter…. I would especially like to make a pesto zucchini fettucini!

Sadly my blog is dead…seems I have writer’s block for everything except summer squash!

    Love your site!

  21. Hi! Just discovered your site, thanks to Kris Carr! I’m excited to try your amazing-looking “Slothful Single Girl’s Summertime Pesto”…definitely need a spiralizer to do it right! Thanks for a lovely blog…
    Kat

  22. The Slothful Single Girls Summertime Pesto looks great as does the Thai Salad…I’m eager to try more. I’m moving towards more of a raw diet.
    Love your blog!

  23. I would love to win the spiralizer – I want to feed my family more raw food. I would love to try the zucchini recipe w/pesto!

  24. i’d love to try to make any and all the varieties of vegetable pastas with the spiralizer 🙂 the yellow squash recipe you posted today looks delicious!

  25. Oh please oh please oh random number generator, please pick me!!! I so desperately want one of these, but between my green powders and diet books and un cookbooks, I’ve spent all my little discretionary dollars of late.

I can’t wait to try the raw pesto recipe I’ve been seeing around!!

  26. I would love to try your zucchini pasta dishes. Ever since the first time I saw you post it I’ve been curious. I’m not sure how I would make it without the spiralizer. I think the thin noodle-like texture is probably really important to the recipe. I’d love to try a pesto/tomato dish like you did above. I absolutely love this combo.

I do not have a blog, but if I did I would for sure advertise this giveaway. I hope I win!

P.S. Is there another easier way to make the “pasta” without having a spiralizer?

  27. I’ve just started investigating going raw, and I’m very intrigued by your nut “cheese” recipes. They sound delicious!

  28. I’m looking forward to trying to make my first raw pizza this weekend!
And I love the look of those noodles.

  29. I’m most excited to try your coconut salad recipe – it sounds delicious! Actually, I’m most excited to crack open a young coconut for my first time ever. I have only cracked the “traditional” coconuts in the past. My parents always have more zucchini than they know what to do with, raw pasta would be a great use!

  30. I would LOVE to put together an spicy thai raw curry dish! I’ve experienced some amazing raw dishes in the past and they always excite me..the way the ingredients are used is breath taking..simply art!

Since I am the only vegetarian in my household..and I pretty much eat cook/eat alone…having a Spiralizer would not only be helpful but would excite me to make more creative veggie dishes!!

I hope I win!! I’ve never won anything before!

    Thanks!!

  31. Honestly… I have a tie! I really want to try making Tabbouhli with sprouted quinoa and your Zucchini/Squash pasta with Slothful Single Girl’s Summertime Pesto! (I’m also going to link you in my next blog post. I’ll email you the link as soon as I do!) I REALLY REALLY REALLY HOPE I WIN THIS. So does my husband. That way I will stop begging him to BUY me a Spiralizer! HAHA!

  32. I am just learning about the benefits of eating Raw and I would love to try and make pasta at home!

  33. Oooh, I’VE ALWAYS WANTED ONE OF THESE! Well, not always because I didn’t know what raw cuisine was a few years ago. But I want one so bad now that it feels like a lifetime. When I make raw pasta, I have to use a crappy veggie peeler and it always turns out more like fettucine…which is good, but not beautiful. I would make a beautiful spiral-sliced zucchini pasta with your tasty pesto recipe from today’s post if I had one of these. 🙂

  34. I want to try that cashew alfredo sauce… and of course I would love the spiralizer to make some delicious pasta for it to go on top!

  35. I came across your blog a few weeks ago and I am addicted! I have only tried spaghetti squash as a pasta substitute but am dying for a spiralizer to try zucchini spaghetti. Your slothful single girl’s summertime pesto looks scrumptious…that will be first on my list if I win!

  36. I’m so glad I found your site – as a fellow admirer of Natalia Rose, it’s great to follow your words and photos 🙂

If I had a spiralizer… let me count the dishes! I’ve been wanting to make raw zucchini pasta with marinara for awhile now, but not having the equipement proves difficult.

Thanks for the opportunity to win!

  37. with the spiralizer id love to try a raw pasta dish. but there are also these raw cinnamon rolls id love to make too!!

  38. If I had the spiralizer I would make lots of yummy raw pastas and salads with zucchini, carrots, parsnips and whatever else I could find. I have been wanting a spiralizer for sooooooo long I just cant find one around here anywhere.

I will post a link in my blog ASAP and email it to you.

  39. Mmmm I’d love to have some yummy “soba noodle” salad with sesame seeds and tahini!

  40. I’d love to make zucchini spaghetti – spaghetti is one of my favorite dishes and I’d like to try it raw!

Love this blog, it’s full of great ideas and insights!

  41. I’m so excited! I can almost taste the raw pasta right now! As for what raw dish I’m most eager to make…can I just list all of the recipes in Ani’s Raw Food Kitchen?
I don’t have a blog so I can’t link back to this, so onto the bonus question! I think I’m most excited about trying a raw summer squash pasta with raw alfredo. The reasons are two-fold:

    1. I have Celiac’s disease so I can’t eat any traditional pasta, raw or not. And I sooo miss pasta. I would love to be able to spiral out some squash pasta and know I was making something truly good for myself.
    2. The boyfriend is a super meat-and-potatoes kind of guy who also loves his fettucine alfredo. He gave me the challenge that if I could make a raw version of fettucine alfredo that he would try it. If you knew how veggie-phobic my boyfriend is, you’d understand that this is a BIG deal. So I went out looking for something to spiral veggie noodles and…nothing. Anywhere. I mean, I didn’t think Tucson was THAT small of a town. You’d think someone would have something to spiral my veggies with… somewhere.

I guess that’s why I’m so excited about this giveaway! Ok, I’m sorry for making this post so long. Gena, I’ll send you this inforin an email, too, as per your instructions about not having a web page to link to. Thanks so much! Good luck everyone!

  42. Believe it or not….. I have never had fresh young coconut meat!! I know, I know, such a disgrace to the name! I’ve never been able to find organic ones around here…. so I just haven’t had the chance. (Gena- do you know if the non-organic ones are safe? I am jealous you live where there are tons of raw restaurants! Not a single one here!)
Also– I am looking forward to trying your pumpkin ice cream!! Mmmm!
Thanks for the opportunity to win this cool tool, it would definitely make my food more interesting with the different options it has, and I love changing up the textures of veggies!

  43. Ohh, I want to try your Slothful Single Girl’s Summertime Pesto. In fact, seeing it is why I entered this giveaway. I want to try it because 1) I also love the alliterative name 2) I love being slothful 3) It looks amazing.

  44. Zucchini pasta!! Oh please, oh please…it would be so amazing to have this to make some of you

  45. This beet pasta with cashew alfredo sauce of which you speak sounds like the very first dish I would make should I be so lucky to win this spiral slicer!! 😀 That sounds divine…

  46. The Spicy Thai Salad you posted with the giveaway looks so good! I plan to make it sometime soon.

  47. Hi Gena! I’ve been reading your blog for a few weeks, and I love your meals! They always look so delicious. As for the vegan meals that I want to try, the zucchini pasta is at the top of my list. Also, the pumpkin soup looks delicious!

  48. I love the idea of making zuchinni pasta, but I have to admit the raw dish I’m most excited to make is raw chocolate chip cookies!!!!!

  49. Hi Gena. My girlfriend (Ryan from Chase Daylight) has a food blog and she showed me yours a few weeks ago when we both became more interested in eating raw foods. Everything you make looks amazing and so delicious. The raw dish I am most eager to try at home is the “Zucchini Pasta with Sweet Pepper Marinara” that you made toward the end of April — it looked so good.

  50. This is too weird, for the past few days I’ve been researching on where to buy one of these awesome machines because I can’t seem to find one in my home town. Now, it’s not a question of what I’ll make, I’ll be trying to spiralize everything in my fridge. I’ll be making everything from pastas to salads. This is the best give away. I’ll be posting it on my blog tomorrow. I’ll send you the link.
    Thanks.
    Daneen

  51. the whole raw concept is relatively new to me but has definitely piqued my interest..
i came across this recipe and have had it bookmarked way before the spiralizer giveaway..but this would work out awsome..hahah
angel hair pasta with creamy spinach sauce..pasta is spiralized zucchini..and the sauce consists of blended avocado, spinach, cashews, thyme, nutmeg, olive oil and lemon juice..sounds fresh and delish..

  52. this is awesome! I can’t wait to make raw zuchinni pasta someday like yours but I need to win first!!thank You Gina
    mel h

I’m giving you some link love on my next blog post!

  55. Ahhhh….I want a spiralizer! I’ve been “spiralizing” with a peeler and I know it would taste a million times better (and look way prettier) if the veggies were spiralized instead. I would like to find a recipe for or create a recipe for raw “baked” pasta…something with nut cheese and a raw, yummy sauce.

  56. oh wow! i have been dying for a spiralizer! i have all the ingredients to try your raw soup (the one you made with the beets and avacados..) it looks so yummy!!!

  57. Hey Gena,

I do not have a website. But I really want to try my own cheezes and raw hummus. I am yet to find one recipe that I like but I saw a few on Ani\’s book oh and I would love to make sunburgers. I have already e mailed you before but I will do again in a few . Thanks!

  58. this looks cool! im sure i could come up with a lot of fun things to do with it, but raw pasta would be first on my list!

  59. Oh my goodness!!! I have totally started reserching/looking into raw foods because of your blog! I would LOVE to try a raw pasta dish…..and would love to try the chia pudding i have seen over the blog world!!!!!

  60. I’ve always been a fan of juices & salads but have never really delved into raw “cooking” but I’m really motivated to try and your and Jenna’s May Challenge!

  63. Hi Gena, I probably don’t stand a chance of winning since I live abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark, but I still wanted you to know that I check your blog everyday, and it’s my absolute favorite of all the raw blogs out there! 🙂 I have tried spiralized zucchini and coconut in a restaurant a few months ago, and it was both more beautiful and appetizing than the sorry shreds I make with my ceramic peeler at home!

  64. The one dish I am most excited to try? This one! Wow, that salad looks amazing. So colorful. This spiralizer looks like fun. New kitchen gadgets are so exciting.

  67. I really would like to try the zucchini pasta that I’ve seen on blogs lately. Looks delicious!

  68. I would love to try to make ribbon vegetables with sauce. You can view the link back to your post on my blog–it’s today’s post =)

  69. I would love to win this!!! I could create so many fantastic things 🙂

I really want to try raw alfredo!

  70. What an amazing giveaway! Your blog is fantastic and encourages me to attempt to go raw…I have been experimenting!

All of the salads look wonderful as do the soups….but the raw recipe I want to try out most is Zucchini Spaghetti.

I would obviously shred the zucchini for spaghetti and blend tomatoes, ginger, garlic, basil, hemp oil, lemon, hemp seed nuts for the sauce!

I will include you in my next post and email you!

  71. Gena! I want to start eating raw because I have so many health issues and was actually set out to find one of these today, but maybe now I will wait to see if i win :p I would want to create raw pad thaiw..nummy!!!!

  72. ohh, I want one of these! I got a crappy spiralizer at a thrift store, I can’t remember what brand but it didn’t work at ALL

I would spiralize an apple and serve it with a strawberry sauce and “meatballs” made of dates and nuts!

love your blog as always, the salad looks fabulous

Hope I win, Hope I win, Hope I win!

  73. Hey Gena,
Lucky you ~ I shall in turn look forward to being inspired by your creations 🙂 I am pretty sure that time I arrive in London a spiralizer and a dehydrator are going to be pretty high on my list of Important Things!
I am eager to give that dressing a try this week also. It sounds scrumptious.
    Have a great weekend,
    Em
    * I specifically missed answering your Q given my location :)))

  74. I think you just said it – beet pasta with cashew alfredo sounds to die for! The second I get the recipe, I’ll spiralizing up a storm.

    -E

  75. WOWZERS! THIS IS AWESOME! I want to try raw “pasta” with veggies! I have always wondered how to make those! Well I need that machine! lol

  76. I want the spiralizer to make THIS dish! Jeeze, I am avocado fiend and I want this SO bad! Mmm… that avocado dressing looks divine.

  77. I would like to make a walnut pate to go on red pepper. YUM! I had it once at a potluck, but I haven’t made it on my own yet.

  78. What a great giveaway!!! There are TONS of raw dishes I want to try. But most of all, I can’t wait to start making my own sprouts! It seems so easy for all the wonderful health benefits.

  79. I just love your blog.. it’s so inspiring! I’ve never really experimented with going raw, but your story makes me want to!

I already eats lots of salads and raw fruits and such, but I’d really love to next try out some raw desserts (yay!), particularly the cocoa pudding-ish creations that I see a lot (like yours with avocado and carob powder).

I’m trying to move away from grains like pasta and bread and move toward more nutrient foods – this spiralizer would be a great way to start!

  80. I hope I’m lucky! I would like to try and recreate a pesto dish I had in France with pepper type “noodles”.

  81. I would love to try the raw cheese recipe! I’m getting a food processor for my bday (thanks so much for your recommendation), and I’m sure it would taste great with some spiralizer-made veggie noodles.

  82. Hi Gena,
I immediately did a post on my blog–I’ll e-mail you the link.

The raw dish I want to try is raw lasagna. I had it once in a cafe while I was out of town for work and it was sooooooo good. I think I could duplicate it, but I hate to go to all that work when I know my family would be less than eager.

For the spirooli–if I win that, I am going to do a lot of carrots. With my Joyce Chen spiral slicer, I haven’t had good luck with carrots unless I buy really fat ones. I am also going to do beets once I’ve got some ready in my garden this summer.

    Thanks,

  83. I am just learning about the whole RAW foods thing, but your salad sure looks tasty:) Thanks!
    christinbanda(AT)yahoo(DOT)com

  84. Gena,
I must try that salad dressing – looks sooo amazingly creamy! Oh, and I MUST win the spiralizer. I have been dying for one of those to make more raw pastas! Thank so much this giveaway. I’ll link in my next post. 🙂

Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy your chia seeds!

  85. I would love to try veggie pasta and raw macaroons at home. I don’t have a spiralizer or a dehydrator, so winning this would be a great “first step” 🙂 Thanks so much for the opportunity, Gena!

I will be sure to link back soon. Your spicy thai salad looks amazing, too. I love the green dressing!

    Have a lovely weekend!

  86. My husband is a HUGE fan of spaghetti and italian, so I just want to try a raw spaghetti of sorts with a raw tomato sauce!

  87. Oh my goodness, what a dream appliance! That would make eating healthy so much easier! I have been drooling over Adelina’s menu (new raw resto on 17th St, apparently…?) and their raw zucchini pasta, but I would much rather try making my own! Plus it’s less intimidating to me than a dehydrator. 🙂

  88. I don’t have a blog but I’m dying for a spiralizer-I’ve been wanting to do beets with one!!!!!I also have a major jones for a dehydrator!!!!!

  89. I just ordered an Excalibur! First dishes on my list when it gets here??? Raw pizza and raw cookies!!! Can NOT wait. I’ve wanted a spiralizer, but after ordering a juicer and now the Excalibur, I would get booted out of the house for sure! It would be so great to win this one. Keeping fingers crossed. – Nancy

  90. I want to try raw ‘cookies’ … and if I win this, I will make lots of spiralised veges

  91. I would love to try this! I’ve been admiring everyone’s spiralized veggie dishes 🙂

  92. Hi Gena!

I’m really excited about the zucchini noodles with cashew sauce, and am also really into the massaged kale salad. Also, I’m about to move and get a bigger kitchen, so that I can start “cook”ing more! The spiralizer would be a wonderful addition to my new healthy kitchen. I’m also trying to get my boyfriend to eat more vegetables (he’s kind of a carnivore), and this would be a huge help!

I don’t have a blog, but I’m sending you an email with some of my mom’s favorite pasta recipes that i can’t wait to replicate with a spiralizer. Congratulations on your first giveaway and the success of your website, sweetie!

  93. This thing looks amazing! I have been toying a lot with incorporating more raw meals into my diet and I think this would help me a lot! I would try to make a pasta inspired dish with zucchini as a substitute.

  94. I am with everyone else…..raw pasta! I am new to the raw foods world, so this tool would definitely be a help 🙂

  95. I have been dying to try some zucchini “pasta” with raw pesto. Now, if only I had a spiralizer to make it with…

  96. A SPIRALIZER! I have taken to making zucchini pasta but it takes sooooooo long to peel little strips. I love zuzzhini pasta with pesto sauce…mmmmm…

  97. What a wonderful giveaway! I have the same spiralizer you have, and it’s served me well for years, but it doesn’t do well with harder vegetables like beets and sweet potatoes. So, I’d say I need the fancy spiralizer to try hard-veggie pasta. Beet pasta sounds wonderful!

  98. I would LOVE to make raw pasta pesto! Pesto is by far my favorite!
Love the blog, keep it up!

  99. I’m really looking forward to trying the zucchini pasta with the cashew alfredo! I keep telling myself i’m going to make it but it would be a whole lot easier with this.

  100. The spiralizer seriously looks like wayyy too much fun 🙂 I would love to try a zucchini pasta, but your beet pasta sounds even better. I <3 beets!

  101. Hi would love to win a spiralizer! All of the veggie “noodles” look so delicious. I am really excited to try some; I am also looking forward to trying some collard wraps!

  102. This giveaway is amazing! The raw dish I would want to try is seriously just zucchini pasta with marinara sauce! Keep it simple. (:

  103. I would be SO excited to win the spiralizer. It was actually your guest post on another blog that I read that got me interested in the benefits of eating raw. I’m working on incorporating more raw foods into my diet and this would be a great help. I think I would spiralize every vegetable possible and make lots of “pastas.” Thanks!

  104. awesomeee! i would love to try to make those raw noodles with zucchini! that would be so fun! im linking to the giveaway in my next post 🙂

  105. how neat! i have been looking at making different raw pastas, but wasn’t sure how to make the “noodles” duh this tool totally makes sense! zucchini pasta would be my first toe in the water attempt

  106. How exciting! I would like to make sweet potato noodles along with maybe parsnip noodles and put into a raw pad thai. I saw a similar dish being served at a raw restaurant once and it looked so good I’ve wanted to give it a go at home.

  107. Would LOVE to make raw pasta, raw dessert with lots of yummy fruits, ANYTHING! Raw food makes me feel so clean and healthy!

  108. I most want to try raw pad thai. I have also been wanting to do the spiralized zucchini ribbons. Thanks for having such a great giveaway – how exciting!!

  109. I would like to try a collard wrap with nut pate and lots of vegetables inside (namely: carrots, jicama–possibly spiralized!, and LOTS of avocado). Oh man, I’m drooling and I just finished breakfast! 🙂

  110. I want to try the zucchini pasta. I saw this on The Fitnessista’s blog and it looked so delicious!!

  111. mmm that dressing looks delic!!
I’ve been dying to try two raw recipes-a raw cheese from melomeals and roshi’s raw curry!!!!!!!!

  112. I have never tried a raw food meal. I’m a healthy eater, but wanting to get in on raw food and more vegetarian options!
That little contraption would be such a great accessory

I have been seeing zuchini used as pasta noodle, I think that would be so neat to try! With some sort of sesame sauce, yum.

  113. I would love to try raw pasta as the real thing is pretty great but it looks like too much work for me to do with a vegetable peeler–I am lazy, I’ll admit it.

  114. Hi Gena,
Thanks so much for commenting on my blog and for leading me back to your own fabulous blog!

The Spirooli was next on my list of appliances to get, until…(dramatic music)…my (formerly) reliable, 20-year old Vitamix finally died. Now the Spirooli will have to wait — unless I’m lucky enough to win your contest! 🙂

I’ve been struggling with making pasta using a vegetable peeler and it takes me forever to create a reasonable portion for one, so what I’d like to try most of all is creating a family sized meal of pasta using the Spirooli.

  115. AH! I’ve been dying to try Ani Phyo’s raw marinara with spiralized zucchini! Zucchini is my favorite veggie hands down. I had the marinara with kelp noodles but I know it will really soar on some spiralized zucchin. I literally just started a blog today so it is very weak but I will be happy to mention your incredible giveaway and will send you a link!

  116. I would love to try the Raw Zuchinni Alfredo! The spiralizer would look great in my kitchen! 🙂

  117. The raw dish I am most eager to try making at home is raw sushi. I’d use the spirooli to make wide ribbons of carrots to put inside it.

  118. I long to eat at a restaurant that serves coconuts with straws in them. (yet another reason to travel to NYC soon)

Your Spicy Thai Dressing sounds fab. I’d also use it for an easy veggie dip, and I wouldn’t mind trying it drizzled over some kelp noodles either. Mmmm.

  119. I am dying to make home made gazpacho. I know it is simple but it is something I have not done! This is super giveaway!
Thank you so much for the chance to win!! I am a vegetarian and this would get so much use at my house!!!
    Leslie

  120. Oh my gosh! I have been dying to get a spiralizer but haven’t gotten my paycheck yet! I would love to try substituting zuchini for pasta!!!

  121. all i have wanted to make lately is raw pata with zucchini- i tried it with a peeler and what a mess!

your dressing and salad look fabulous- how long do you think that the dressing will last?

  122. I have a spiralizer on my birthday list, so I would love to be enjoying a zucchini pasta dish on that special day! I have also been eyeing a whole lot of Chia on these blogs and I would love to try the Raw Chia Holiday Pudding!!!

  123. what a great giveaway! Ive been dying to try your delicious looking zucchini pasta but have been wishing i had a spiralizer to make it with. and after your post of raw desserts, i’m definitely thinking those are going to be my next RAW attempt 🙂 thanks gena!

  124. oops…my post was the last one, but in all the excitement, I forgot to type in my name, haha :]

  125. I am so glad that you are giving away a spiralizer!!! ever since I started reading your blog, I have actually been shopping around amazon for one! I would love to make zucchini noodles with the sweet pepper marinara that you featured a couple posts ago. Carrot noodles sound really good too though, so I might have to make it a combo!

  126. I would love to make the zucchini noodles that you have in so many of your recipes and use them like pasta. I love this website. Your recipes look so tasty and healthy! 🙂

  127. I really want to try making a raw “spaghetti” that my husband will love. I am trying to incorporate more raw foods into my life, but the hubs had a hard enough time when I went vegetarian. I just know that he will like it if he tries is (he always does.) Thanks!

  128. I really want to make a raw zucchini pasta. Not sure what I would put on it. Maybe a raw tomato sauce and some raw walnut “parm”.

  129. That dressing sounds & looks fantastic! I made zucchini fettuccine the other day with a vegetable peeler, but I bet the spiralizer would produce a more uniform pasta shape. That would probably be the first raw dish I’d make if I win!!

  130. I have been drooling over your raw zucchini alfredo! I haven’t made it yet because I don’t have a food processor OR a spiralizer =(. Winning this spiralizer would bring me one step closer to raw goodness!

  131. Mmm…I would love to try the zucchini pasta! And learn to make pretty carrots like you 🙂

I’m going to be in NYC this summer–any tips for yummy, healthy restaurants? (I’m a first time reader…sorry if you have already addressed this!)

  132. I would like to make raw pasta as well, with sun dried tomato sauce and maybe some of that cashew sauce that I’ve been hearing good things about :).

  133. Gorgeous salad! I love that they serve the young Thai coconuts like that too. NYC really seems to have the coolest places to eat.

I would love to try raw pasta made with beets. I’ve heard it tastes amazing, and it just looks so pretty!

  134. OMG OMG … the fact that I’m currently trying to incorporate more raw goodness into my diet – means that this is the perfect time for me to get this spiralizer 😀

There are sooo many raw dishes I wanna try
    raw ‘nut’ cheese
raw pasta – re: spiralised veges!!!
    raw macaroon
    raw ‘donut’ holes
    ..SO many things

can I please ask you one question though, do you tend to eat more ‘warm’ food during winter?? I wonder if it is possible to create ‘warm’ raw food – thanks!!!

  135. Seriously awesome salad to go with an equally like-minded giveaway!
I’m dying to use it to make Thai salad rolls, one of our favorite meals. Chopping the veg just doesn’t give it the same essence, KWIM?

  136. i’d like to make a raw chocolate pie w/ coconut cream…i think it’s in ani phyo’s book! otherwise…i’d love to have a spiralizer! i made the zucchini ‘noodles’ with a peeler and it took forever.

    loved the salad! 🙂

  137. Gorgeous salad! I would love to be able to make raw pasta look so gourmet, I only made raw pasta, once, for our dinner!
BTW, caravan will always hold a special place in my heart!

  138. I love the red pepper soup from bonobos… but I also love spiral-y pasta, so maybe I could put some in the soup!

  139. I can’t wait to try your “pizza cheese!” Maybe I could eat it with some spiralized veggies?

  140. Gena-

Oh, I have been wanting a spiralizer forever now since starting my raw challenge! This one looks awesome and I love that it makes 3 different shapes!!!
