I’ve felt totally rushed and behind on everything since Monday, and it’s showing. I’ve had three spectacular recipe fails this week (hence the lack of a new blog post), and the more I push to correct and create, the worse it’s getting.

I’d be lying if I said this isn’t all suuuuper frustrating, but...it is what it is. And since pushing isn’t helping, it’s time to take a break till Sunday and get back to it next week with renewed energy.

Just a reminder, in case it ever looks otherwise, that cooking can be...HARD. Even for those of us who do it all the time, usually happily. Not every week in the kitchen feels rewarding. Sometimes the best approach is to step back and avoid forcing it for a little while, until inspiration returns or exasperation wears off or whatever shift you need has happened. Saying it for me as much as for anyone who’s listening 😌❤️

Oh, and here’s something that wasn’t a #fail: kale, balsamic vinaigrette, steamed kabocha, chickpeas, farro, @violife_foods_usa Parmesan. Small victories, right?

  • Yummy and cozy breakfast! @onedegreeorganics rolled oats, cooked with soy milk and a pinch of salt, topped with toasted walnuts, a caramelized banana (just split a banana lengthwise and cook in a lightly oiled nonstick pan for about 3 minutes per side), and a drizzle of maple syrup, of course. Happy Tuesday morning to me 😌

  • I tend to think of panzanella as a summertime dish, but this version is tomato-free and can be adapted to include any fall veggies (think: green beans, roasted broccoli). Bonus: white beans for protein and a creamy avocado dressing. An old fave—recipe link in my bio!
