  1. Carrot Falafel & Peanut Noodles are tied for first!! I love them all though. I served the pizza wrap up for my meat eating in law’s and they said it was delish! Yay! Thanks for sharing such simple and tasty recipes! 🙂

  2. i find myself eagerly awaiting every new post from this blog…thanks to kristen suzanne’s link on one of her posts about NYC. now i’m hooked! i make the falafel on a weekly basis now, and i have no doubt that every other recipe of your’s is perfection. but seriously…that raw falafel is the bomb diggity. i have to be careful making it, as i eat quite a bit before it even goes in the dehydrator. i added dill and it makes it taste more like crab cakes. yum num num! thank you gena!

  3. ive been trying some of your recipes and i have to say i absolutely loved every one of them! the tortilla soup & banana soft serve have to be my favorites, but the marinara sauce is also up there. have been meaning to make the chocomole too! thank you for the recipes and for your eloquent insights. i look forward to every post!

  4. Yum, I’ve made almost all of those!

For some reason I couldn’t comment on your last post, but congratulations on your award! I knew you’d win 😀 Can’t wait for new CR recipes in 2010!

  5. Hi Gena,

I have been folowing your blog for about a year now but don’t think that I have ever commented before. Just wanted to pop in and thank you for what you do! Your soft serve (with the agave/cacao sauce, of course) and the zucchini marinara sauce have become staples that are always requested by my normally meat-and-dairy-loving husband!

  6. Hi Gena, I have to say that when I first discovered your blog in August of 2009, I fell in love with the colours of your meals and the uniqueness with which you seemed to assemble the ingredients in your dishes and in your salads. At the same time that I fell in love, I was also afraid that I might not be able to re-create those meals! Can you believe I had never tried kale before until finally giving your massaged kale salad a go??

I love ALL your recipes – for how creative they are, how nutritious, and how simple! But if I had to pick one based on how many times I’ve made it (although I eat a kale salad probably every day, I’d feel bad to list it as a “Recipe”!) – I’d have to say the carrot falafel.

I have made it 7 times already. Is that crazy? I’m in love! 🙂

  7. Hi Gena,

Love this post. Your chocomole is one of my fave recipes!

I have a quick question: I was wondering if you would post some tips on making good “zoodles” in the next few weeks. I try to eat zucchini noodles when I can, but they always end up getting soft, mushy, and/or overly moist, and it makes me feel like I’m eating the inside of a pumpkin. Ick. So I’ve been avoiding zoodles, but I’d really like to try them again – if I could get them to look as crisp and delicious as yours!

    Thanks!

  8. Yum–I loved seeing all these amazing recipes again, and the list reminded me of how many I want to make (those falafels! those falafels!). Great way to start the new year 🙂

  9. Gena, congrats on the award! You so deserve it! All I can say is thank you. Your knowledge, recipes and great attitude has been a huge inspiration to me. Thank you! (oh, my favourites are the guac (the best!), the marinara and the buttermilk and chive dressing, all staples in my kithchen)

  10. Mouth watering, every single one of them.

I tried banana soft serve this year, and turned myself into a banana lover. And I really want to try your zucchini marinara, looks incredible!

  11. Oh what a great Top 10!!!
I think I’ve made my own tweaks/versions or just straight up, your version!, on 7 of the 10. I am just not a soup girl (two there) and the pizza cheese. But that one will need to get tried!

Of your top 10 list…faves. Well, I mean banana softserve is epic. Guac is always good. The way I make my peanut sauce and raw zuke noodles (similar to yours) is a huge fave. And anything in a collard wrap works.

KALE. Big omission girl, where is it?!! 🙂 That’s daily for me.

And of course some sort of Raw Ball. I need my daily dose of raw balls (twss!)
    xoxo

  12. Hi Gena, Thank you for the run down on your favorite recipes! I can’t wait to try them all. Your blog has been an inspiration to me for some time, and I have never commented. The high raw vegan diet has been the ONLY successful diet I have tried to “cure” myself from persistent digestive distress. I have been eating raw for three months and everything from my constant cramping after eating to my dry skin has completely vanished. Thank you for your easy, delicious recipes that help me stay raw.

  13. My favs would def. be banana soft serve, pizza cheese, and guac! Not only are they my favorite recipes from you, but my favorite recipes of all time!

  14. The banana soft serve…is DEFINITELY up there. It’s the reason I’m getting a better food processor….can’t wait to try all of these recipes!

  15. What beautiful photos and food! And to think that there was all sorts of intelligent dialogue to go with it. No wonder you won Best Raw Blog!!!

  16. I think it might be dangerous to have so much deliciousness packed into one post! Thanks for the recap of so many of your RAWESOME creations!!

  17. Congrats on your awards! I voted for you!! 🙂 My faves are definitely the moroccan spiced carrot soup (LOVE THIS!!), raw tortilla soup, your version of Kristen’s harvest soup, zucchini alfredo, lime-in-the-coconut smoothie, autumn greens salad, and the raw polenta with marinated cherry tomatoes. Gena, I love your recipes, and I can’t wait to try your falafel and cashew cheese with meyer lemon and cherries – those are next on my list!

  18. I really must eat something now, looking at all the gorgeous photos and knowing that each recipe is even more delicious than it looks is making me ready for an early lunch 😉 A big and belated congrats on The Best Blog and the Best Website in the Best of Raw 2009. Even just this last post is an amazing reason why you (and Choosing Raw) deserve them both. Thank you for everything that you do, Gena, wishing you the best in the new year and beyond!

  19. I’ve tried your banana soft serve and the pizza cheese and both were great. Looking forward to trying the other top recipes. Congrats on winning the Raw Awards!!

  20. Well, again, I am not raw or vegan..I am not a perfect eater at all either — I make many many mistakes (quantity , quality, etc)…but I enjoy seeing different lifestyles…and u certainly have presented a different kind altogether this past year. You should be very proud of your website and passion. Passion if nothing else is admirable. There are so many different lifestyles in the blogging world, quite interesting. By the way, avocados are the best thing ever. Have a nice start to 2010.

  21. I don’t know how you could say there are only 10 best of recipes!!! This whole blog is BEST OF! 🙂 Gotta remember to make that falafel!!! It’s one of my favs, what was I thinking!!?

  22. can’t forget your mushroom and walnut stuffing! it was my favorite part of my thanksgiving meal. 🙂 i can’t wait for the recipes you’ll be sharing with us this year!

  23. Yay, now I have a blog so I can TELL you that I’ve made your pizza cheese and banana soft serve and they were amazinggg. I think the next thing on my “to try” list is the chocomole 😀

  24. Thank you. I have been up since 5:45 and it is not 9:00 and I haven’t eaten yet and now I am STARVING after seeing these!

  25. Ahhh I am so glad you linked to all of these since alot of them I missed! I am going to try to start eating a raw meal 1-2 times a week in hopes to start liking veggies more . . . will be sure to use some of these recipes!!

  26. my favorite of these top 10 was the banana soft serve, but i have yet to try many of the others. i think that will be my to do list this week, to make these lovely raw dishes. thank you!
