Weekend Pause
October 14, 2018

Hi friends. I’m taking a pause instead of getting weekend reading up tonight. No urgent reason, but I’ve had a lot of work to do today, and I’m feeling the need to wind down early. I’ve got something on my mind to write about, but doing so tonight would mean rushing, and it would give me less time to finish up my batch cooking, watch a little TV, maybe even pay a visit to my mom. These are things that my body and soul are asking for this evening.

So, I’ll be diving right into things with a scrumptious new dessert recipe tomorrow. Till then, be well.

True to my promise, I can start this post with the following statement: it’s really good to be home. There’s so much to say about how nice it is to be back, but I’m staring out at a sea of boxes and belongings, and time is of the essence if I’m ever to get settled into the new digs. So, let’s skip right ahead to Weekend Reading, and I’ll say more about my homecoming later. Let’s begin on a high note: avocado sea…

When I woke up this morning, just before 6, I immediately started to slide my feet out of bed. I was feeling more foggy than usual, thanks to my allergies, and I started to run through the day’s schedule and to-do list. What time were my clients scheduled for? How many meal plans were on the docket for that morning? Where was I with my freelance projects, and did I have any substantive writing to do this afternoon? A moment or so later,…

Sorry to be posting weekend reading late, everyone! The last two days seem to have flown by–but not too fast for me to bookmark a couple of outstanding recipes and compelling reads. We all know that I can’t resist an avocado toast recipe. This one–slathered in homemade dukkah–looks almost too awesome to be true. While we’re on the topic of spice blends, za’atar is one that I wish I used more often, because it’s wonderful. These hemp za’atar sorghum crackers with parsley hummus…

Happy Sunday! I hope you’ve all had nice weekends so far. Yesterday was all drizzles here in the NYC, but today has delivered that wonderful fall weather I’ve been pining for. I also took a little time away from work this weekend to relax with the boy, and I’m feeling so glad I did. While I was at it, I found some delicious recipes and reads for you all. I love, love, love the combination of tomatoes and rice. I think it might be…
