Weekend Pause
October 14, 2018

Hi friends. I’m taking a pause instead of getting weekend reading up tonight. No urgent reason, but I’ve had a lot of work to do today, and I’m feeling the need to wind down early. I’ve got something on my mind to write about, but doing so tonight would mean rushing, and it would give me less time to finish up my batch cooking, watch a little TV, maybe even pay a visit to my mom. These are things that my body and soul are asking for this evening.

So, I’ll be diving right into things with a scrumptious new dessert recipe tomorrow. Till then, be well.

Happy Sunday, friends! I hope you’ve been enjoying the weekend so far, and if you have tomorrow off, I hope you’re resting and enjoying a little extra free time. I’ll be working with clients on Monday, but with exams behind me, I’m taking some time this weekend to catch up with a few friends and to have a much needed date night with Steven (between work and school, he and I have been ships crossing this week!). Here are some reads and food…

This past week in yoga, my teacher quoted a verse from a poem by Rumi. Some of you might know it already; the title of the poem is “On A Day”: When the wind is perfect The sail just needs to open and the world is full of beauty. Today is such a day. I wasn’t surprised at my teacher’s timing. We New Yorkers had just had two of the warmest and most beautiful days of an otherwise cold, rainy spring. The gleeful…

In February, it’s not unusual for yoga classes and studios to place an emphasis on the 4th chakra, or anahata chakra. My studio is no exception, and even if Valentine’s Day weren’t around the corner, the heart chakra would be on my mind. I’m going to try not to quote from Melody Beattie’s Journey to the Heart (which I mentioned last week) every single Sunday, since I don’t want to spoil its surprises for those who haven’t read it. But I was moved enough…

Happy Sunday, everyone. I was happy to see such supportive and thoughtful responses to Alisa’s green recovery story on Friday (and I got a few green recovery submissions over email that night, which is always a big treat). Thank you for sharing your impressions, and if you haven’t read Alisa’s perspective, it’s really thought-provoking and worth exploring. It’s the end of another busy week, and so I took some moments this morning to catch up on health and wellness news, recipes from around the…
