1 28-ouncecan crushed tomatoes
2tablespoonstomato paste
1teaspoondried oregano
Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
Heat the olive oil in a medium large saucepan. Add the onions, along with a pinch of salt. Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the onions are clear and tender. Add the garlic and cook for another 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Stir in the sugar.
Add the tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, thyme, and salt and pepper to taste. Keep warm till ready to use.
Notes
Leftovers will keep in an airtight container for up to five days, and can be frozen for up to 2 months.
