1poundfresh or frozen berries (if using fresh strawberries, trim and quarter)
1-2tablespoonsmaple syrup or coconut sugar (optional)
Place all ingredients in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer, uncovered, for 15-20 minutes, until the berries are syrupy and reduced in volume. Serve over hot cereal, yogurt, toast, an English muffin, etc.
Store the orange juice simmered berries in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 6 days.
