A Pea Worthy Cookbook Giveaway

Hey all!

Remember May, when I was all stressed out about moving, but took comfort in dinner with my friend Sarah (aka Mama Pea)? You may remember how our friendship inspired me to bake these vegan fig bars, which remain among my proudest baking accomplishments:

Now Sarah’s inspiring me again, with the triumphant and fun-filled publication of her cookbook, Peas and Thank You. It’s a fantastic resource for Moms who are trying to help their families transition into more heavily plant based diets, and it’s filled with fun tips for the home cook (pea points) as well as the intimate stories and images of family life that make Sarah’s blog so touching and fun to read.

The book is also full of mouth-watering photos, which happen to have been taken by another dear friend: Ms. Ashley.

  1. I am really excited to own this book. Mama Pea is one of my favorite bloggers besides you Gena, and I love her recipes. I also love the fact that every recipe I have tried of hers, my husband has enjoyed. We eat mostly vegan but allow some dairy and eggs occasionally, and I love the variety Mama Pea includes in her recipes.

  2. I bought her cookbook and LOVE it. I’d be thrilled to win and have a copy to share with family. Thanks!

  3. Im SUPER excited to win this book because I’ve been contemplating buying this book for the longest time. Sarah’s blog is a huge inspiration in my recovery from anorexia (as are her meals) and I believe her book would be another enormous boost too!

    xxx

  4. And, I am really excited to own this book because we are trying to make the transition from vegetarianism to veganism, and I think this would give me lots of delicious things to make! Thanks for the opportunity 🙂

  6. I would be excited to own this cookbook because I’ve never heard of a margarita smoothie before, and I believe that’ll be just the ticket to prove to my very-not-vegan friends that this world is delicious 😉

  7. I would be excited to own this cookbook because I am teenager new to healthy eating and would love to be able to convince my family to join me, which I might be able to do if I make them some reci”peas” from the book!

p.s. Thank you for the opportunity to win an amazing book!

  8. I would love to own this book because I am raising my two little boys totally vegan. My oldest starts preschool in two weeks and I have to pack lunches for him. I bet there are lots of great ideas in her cookbook.

  9. Oh, my wife would be so happy to win this book! She tells me almost every day what she read on your blog, Gena, or on Sarah’s blog. It is like you are part of our family. You two are part of the reason why we have so many delicious vegan meals. We never ate kale before, but now we have it in the fridge all the time and we make smoothies, kale chips, salads… Our baby loves kale leaves eaten straight from our shopping cart :).

  10. I would love to have this book! Two years ago my family (my husband, my 2 year old son and I) embarked on a meat-free diet and we love it. I follow your blog and Sarah’s blog religiously, every day. I made a lot of the vegan recipes from both blogs for my family and we LOVED them. Thank you for all your work that you do!

  11. I’d like to own this cookbook because 1) her recipes look delicious, 2) they look easy to make and 3) most of the ingredients are ones that can be found at my small town grocer.

  12. I would love to win this cookbook so I could place it in a conspicuous location in my kitchen with the hopes that my mom would pick it up and want to try some of the recipes out for dinner every once in awhile. While I realize I am responsible for feeding myself properly, and I do enjoy cooking for myself and my family frequently, it would be nice to eat something other than veggie sides or a hastily thrown together salad on the nights that I’m too busy!

  13. I am exited about this book because I love reading Sarah’s blog and all her recipes look amazing! If they’re half as good as the picture suggest, the book is more than worth having.

  14. and I could really use a little cookbook inspiration to reinvigorate my fledgeling vegan lifestyle!

  15. And I’m excited about the book because I love the Peas and Thank You blog (website? I don’t know what we call things anymore, heh.)

  16. I would love to own the book–not only do I need some new recipeas but I admire her dedication and commitment!

  17. I actually already have the book, but I loaned it to my sister before diving into it and now I can’t get it back because she’s enjoying the recipes so much with her son. So I need another copy! 🙂 I’m excited about the original cooked vegan recipes to impress family with.

  18. oh i already answered part of the why i’d like it..ok because i love the pea family and want more pics of them around, they are super cute, and i love the writing, and i love the reciPEAS. good marks all around.

  19. haha for a minute I thought i was on the wrong blog. love this book! saldy mine is inaccessable so i need another copy asap! to donate to a friend after mine is uncovered.

    i stalk/follow you on twitter @cherrycobbler

  20. I would love this book because I have made so many of Mama Peas recipes and my son and husband are slowly coming over to my vegan side. When food tastes as good as Mama Pea makes it, it doesn’t matter that animal protein is not included because it’s not missed. My parents are also enjoying Mama Pea’s recipeas!

  21. I would love own this book to have access to her recipes only found in the book!

  22. I’m already doing the first 4 things so here’s a comment too! 🙂 This looks like a great cookbook, and I’ve been meaning to give those fig bars a try! I made my own recipe for them a while back but they’re just not quite right, yours look so moist and fluffy that I can’t wait to try your technique. A book like this would be great for my newly-vegan husband to get some ideas – he struggles with books like Veganomicon that don’t have pictures. 🙂

  23. I already have Peas and Thank You on my Kindle, but I would be thrilled to win a hard copy, because cookbooks aren’t nearly as exciting on a Kindle. No color? No scanning through the pages to see what catches my eye? No quickly flipping to a certain recipe? No thank you. If I don’t win this book in a giveaway sometime soon, I have a feeling I’ll be buying the hard copy on my own!

  24. I would love to own the book to help my dad enjoy vegan foods more! He’s really trying hard, but it can be difficult at times.

  25. I’m excited to own this book because I’ve been hearing so many great things about it and I’m eager to get some new vegan recipes to try.

  26. I’d love to win this book because I’ always looking for new twists on plant-based foods to try out!

  27. 5. I’m SUPER-DEE-DUPER excited to own this book because, as a teen, it’s my responsibility to cook for the entire family occasionally. I’m the only vegan, and they’re stubborn when it comes to eating vegan foods, and I’m sick of having to handle dead animal and/or animal products for them. So this book (since it says it’s recipes the whole family will love) will be great for me. (:

Plus, I’m way out-dated for a new cookbook; I’ve created the recipes of my other ones one-too-many times. D:

    Also, cookbooks inspire me to swerve off from the written recipes and start changing an ingredient here, a spice there… until I officially create a totally new, scrumptious recipe all on my own. (;
