I know that I’m not the only one who’s been fe I know that I’m not the only one who’s been feeling a little burnt out on cooking lately (er, since last April). There’s nothing like discovering a new ingredient to inspire fresh ideas in the kitchen!

#ad I’ve long been a fan of fresh, locally grown greens from @boweryfarming. Farmer’s Selection is the latest innovation from this awesome company. They’re quarterly, limited-edition releases of small batch greens that may be new or off-the-beaten path to many home cooks—including me! 🙋‍♀️

Bowery’s first batch of greens are these beautiful Mustard Frills 😍 They’ve got a soft, beautifully frilly texture, but they pack a serious flavor punch! I’ve been loving their fiery finish—such an easy way to spice up meals.

I love the frills when they’re just wilted, and I’ve been having a lot of fun folding them into everyday meals. I never turn down a chance to add a pop of green to my food, and these mustard greens have been a fun adventure. They’re available at select NYC independent grocers this winter (link in my bio to learn more). And I’ll be sharing some of the tasty meals that I create with them in the coming weeks!

This beans & greens pasta is it: fast, flavorful without too many ingredients, and you can use whatever beans/greens you have. I’ve been doing kale with cranberry beans or cannelloni beans lately, but escarole and chickpeas is also nice. A good excuse to be heavy-handed with your cashew parmesan, too. IDK what it is about this week, but I think a lot IDK what it is about this week, but I think a lot of us have hit a wall. I’ve been overwhelmed, irritable, and completely exhausted. I kept trying to make my way through yoga this morning, and I kept stopping to cry. Even with vaccines on the horizon, any sense of normalcy feels far away. And in the meantime, more isolation, burnout, being home all the time (and pressure to work all the time), news that’s so often distressing and worrying.

If you’re burnt out, you’re not alone. Here’s a gentle reminder to take care of yourself in whatever way you’re able to right now. Maybe that’s a nutritious lunch or a new baking project, maybe it’s a few minutes of deep breathing, maybe it’s asking a friend to send you a playlist or a funny meme. If you read poetry, maybe it’s visiting a poem you love. Maybe it’s getting lost in a favorite song. If you pray, maybe it’s prayer.

Life may continue to be difficult for a while, but the way we feel about it will change. We’ll get through this. For today, I’m sending you love. Lots of love 💕
